Ok, the number of people simply typing "PM'ed" in reply to a trade thread was getting out of hand, hence the need for the thread/rule that I made prohibiting it.

Now thanks to David (dmorris68), any posts made in The Trading Post will not count towards your Post Count, meaning you can spam as much as you like (no I'm not serious).

When replying to a thread about you having PM'ed the thread author, you must specify which site you PM'ed them about and whether it was for cash or trade.

For example, if I'm replying to a thread I would type something along the lines of PM'ed for Money.123StuffForFree - PayPal or PM'ed for Money.123StuffForFree - Trade.

[ba320e8638e]This is in effect immediately and anyone found to be only typing PM'ed or not using the above format will have their post(s) deleted, threads locked and banned (at the sole discretion of the staff member dealing with it).[/ba320e8638e][/colora320e8638e][/sizea320e8638e]

Please feel free to give suggestions or ideas to make this better. )

Yep, I'll admit that I got out of hand with it today. I will try to keep that from happening again. It's still okay to do it like once in a while though right? Or is replying to any thread now with "PMed" illegal?

[quoteef7bc8705a="theysayjump"]This is getting out of hand. Lots of members are really getting a jump in their post counts by simply replying to a thread saying variations of "PM'ed".

Not only that, but when I see 12 threads in a row titled as "Newbie, doing all sites" etc, I think "Great, I can get some greens" only to realise that it has 47 replies saying PM'ed and is 4 weeks old.

If you wanna PM someone then do so, we don't need to know that you did and it's annoying.

[bef7bc8705a]Anyone found to be replying to threads saying PM'ed or a variation thereof will have their post deleted. Consistent violation (three times or more) of this new rule will result in being banned.[/bef7bc8705a][/coloref7bc8705a][/sizeef7bc8705a]

Please Report! any NEW posts violating this rule, made after this thread was posted.

not that im trying to start anything but the rules here are becoming too strict

hehehhehe

19-02-2007 10:29:50

Thank you so much, this was driving me crazy.

As for the guys still wanting to do this, why? If you PM someone, they know you PM'ed them. There's no need for a post about it.

When so many members are unable to exhibit common sense, strict rules take precedence.

so basically the new threads will now be a repetition of the ''bump'' phrase by the initiator....
not that i dislike the idea, but it will get strange lol...talking to ureself

oh well, gotta live with it i guess...)

Edit so we can't basically say anything?
can we comment on the offer and such?

theysayjump

19-02-2007 12:18:10

You can post in a thread asking questions about the site, offers, how much they're paying etc, I'm just tired of seeing people make 18734 replies to threads saying PM'ed.

Nobody said you can't say anything -- this topic is specifically addressing "PM'd" posts. If there is a relevant point to be made in a trading post thread, then by all means make it. However the Trading Post is not intended for random discussion. Only discussions relevant to the trade at hand.

Saying "bump" to bump your own topic, as long as it's been past 24 hours, is normally the way auto-bumps are done, so feel free to do so.

ok thanks just wondering

also, now the trader's TR record is displayed next to his name in the ''author', section? cool feature )

I think this is a very good idea, and so is displaying the TR rating of the author. I think this thread might need a sticky, though, so everyone will view it.

I have no problem with stopping, but I only did it to remind myself of what threads I had PMd the poster. Like someone said, sometimes the newbie threads that pop up on top are very old.

I think this is great, but what if we add it to the brag-brag forum as well. Many people just reply 'congrats' and dont really say much else. Dont mean to point anyone out, but

I have to ask, instead of PM'd can we just put the site down we are going to PM them about? So this one person does not get 100 PMs about YourGiftsFree? And it could only be on newer topics....
