I have found that offercentric has a lot of instant offers, but I have also read that they have offers where you have to pay a lot when you have 1-2 left. Is this still the case for OC's ipod nano site?

its the case for all OC sites, but only when you are down to your last referral or 2 needed.
the offers of doom will show up when you need only 1 or 2 refs left to complete the site.

How come I've read that some people have not gotten the offers of doom for the ipod nanos site.

People lie to get cheap signups.
edit - apparently, they are adding a few extra offers of doom, but the good offers dissapear when there are two refferals left for the item.
