No, I didn't.
If you need to use that, then great, but I'd expect most to resize or edit their their images, if need be, [i506d5b874c]before[/i506d5b874c] uploading them.

With imageshack, you don't get a bandwidth limit.

Shack is also fully anonymous. With bucket, you have to create an account with a username. You also have many easy ways to upload to shack, like the firefox and XP right click plugins that allow you to upload an image without even visiting the site.

Thanks for this helpful info...
Now - what about creating images/banners?
Can you offer any tips for someone like me
who doesn't have decent software to do it and
who refuses to spend the money for the software?
(I'll always be a pest - it's my job)

It's the size. You need to crop it to what you want to show. Like what I did above. You should get Snagit, or open the screens you capture and then crop them down. If you want to keep the full size, including the entire browser (dunno why), then you'd have to post the hotlinked thumbnails that shack offers when you upload. They'd just be too big for the board otherwise.

You [i9297718c88]can[/i9297718c88] find some freeware image software on the net. In fact, dmorris68 posted one recently (forget the thread), but I tend to use Photoshop which is pricey to buy. There's some freeware animation software too, for those animated banners, but again, I use Fireworks, which is also expensive to buy.

Actually, that's not so. It's just that the limit isn't nearly as low. I've had some userbars die quick deaths once they got too popular. This is why I always told people to rehost them. (few listen)

Snagit is good? i have been using irfanview... its really easy to shrink and manage pictures sizes.... BUT when it comes to cropping, it always leaves huge black areas that are still included in the picture.... Snagit is a good software to crop and manage picture size?have you ever tried irfanview?

Looks as if Snagit's current demo is fully functional for 30 days. You can always give it a try to see if you like it before upgrading. shrug

Well, if you're not going to save them as optimized gif's, then go with the thumbnail option. Not direct links to embed them in a thread. (Too big for the board)
