i requested approval on 11/6 will i get my item before xmas? what shipping method do they use? Will i get a tracking number?

So long as you go through on approval just find I would bet that you get it before Christmas.
They use a variety of shipping methods, depending on where they buy it from.
You may or may not receive a tracking number.

You definitely should get it before Christmas. I ordered from youripodnano4free a few weeks ago and got the iPod 2 weeks later (including approval). And it's not like 360s are in any sort of short supply.
