Does this work if I put it in an external case for the Mac mini?

Anybody know of a good looking case that matches the Mac Mini? Mine went STV and I'm stocking up on products. Thanks!

i dont have a mini as of yet, but i do have a G5...ive not had a problem with internal hard drives in external enclosures...i would recomend a firewire connection instead of USB2.0,

on paper usb2.0 is faster, but i was looking at actual transfer rates and if you are moving large amounts of data...the firewire seemed to preform faster...at least it seemed to move faster for me...ill see if i can find the benchmark test results that i found

"USB 2 offers a maximum throughput of 480 Mbps vs Firewire's 400 Mbps, but Firewire is capable of higher sustained transfer rates. USB 2's sustained xfer rate is insufficient for DV capture and editing (although, depending on the system bus, compatibility, and other system resource requests, USB 2 can be used for video editng, but not reliably). "..did a google search for usb2.0 vs firewire

Thanks! I'm asking if that particular internal hard drive is fine. I don't know if all internal HDs work with Mac Minis or not. Do you think 200GB is enough to store videos? I'm getting EyeTV and EyeHome to turn the Mini into a Media Center, while its initial 80GB will be used for normal stuff.

Almost all hard drives come 'raw.' When youplu gi tin, you'll have to initialize it. If you want to install OS X on it (either as a main install, or a backup), you'll need to format it in HFS or HFS+. If you want it just for storage, and want to share it with a Windows machine (directly, not through the Mac), format it to FAT32.
