Check it out, there must be some other HP fans here. The trailer isn't that great compared to the last one but I'm sure the movie will rock.

i love harry potter and that looks cool as shit! i like how as its getting further on in the adventure and as the kids are getting older, the stories are getting darker and more inventive!

i havent read the goblet of fire yet but my wife said its her favourite.

on a side note, J.K Rowling used to be a teacher at my school back home in edinburgh (scotland) and wrote her 1st book or 2 there also. i think she was an english teacher but i cant remember cos she started a few weeks before i left the school.

cant wait for that film though! D

not sure how the movie will handle it, but the end of the goblet of fire is very very dark. this will definately not be a kids movie and will most likely be rated pg-13.

Yeah, it's really only about an hour drive from my house to get into PA. Baltimore is fine if you're spending maybe a day here and stick to downtown. There is some interesting historical stuff here but that's basically it. Anything more time than that and you'll realize how much it sucks here. It took visiting Chicago to realize what nice cities are truly like.

Well depends on what you mean by nice citys. Chicago to me sounds like a city that has a lot of crime at nights and such. Though a lot of cities would fall under that classification. I guess its too heavly populated. I live in Beaverton and i find Portland a decent city to stoll around in. San Franscisco dosent sound bad either.

I've alawys had this desire to go to Beaueford (South Carolina?), guess the images from A Walk to Remember were too appealing to me wink

hmmm..one of my friends just got a job down there as a sous chef at a really good restaurant....him and his gf are moving down there.....ive only been once and i thought it was pretty cool....although my wife says the same as you about it. i saw chicago from the air and that was cool....nice airport.....we saw courntey from the dandy warhols there and we chased him around trying to get to talk to him but his long legs got him away from us quicker than we could run lol.

i think we scared him oops

nicd.01

10-05-2005 22:52:25

Not really sure what the crime stats for Chicago is but they're probably similar to any large city. Not as bad as Detroit, I'm sure. My girlfriend lived in the heart of downtown so we never had a problem walking around at night or riding the metro or anything. There are people pretending to be homeless asking for money who will sometimes get pissed off at you but that's all I experienced. Out of all the time I spent there I really can't say I was ever in fear for my life or anything like that. Baltimore, however, is a different story... As for chasing people through airports, I wouldn't mind chasing one of the Gallaghers down to shake their hands when I'm in London this summer. Wishful thinking...

Just taking a summer trip. Hawaii was our first choice since we thought it would be cheap because we are in the states. After doing our homework, we found out that a flight and hotel to London was considerably less. We also plan on taking a day trip to Paris while we're at it. Do you have any suggestions on what to do while we're there? We already have most of the tourist sites written down, along with some markets and Berwick Street.

theysayjump

10-05-2005 23:19:01

well ive been to london a few times but i was never really a big fan of it....i thought it was very crowded and kinda dirty in a lot of places......its a huge fuckin tourist trap........but i am very interested in the history of it and all the small streets and old buildings and historical places it has......like the song by the jam (dwon in the tubestation at midnight)....dont go down in the tube station at midnight for obvious reasons.......its a great place for gigs......if im not mistaken primrose hill is where alot of famous people stay (including the gallaghers at one point, maybe even still).

if your going to go to a pub try and make sure you go to one with flowers outside...like hanging ones or plant pots on/in the window....just cos they are usually the better, friendlier pubs (going by my logic, rough, tough, unfriendly pubs wouldnt have flowers and shit like that outside) and they will more than likely have a beer garden.........try not to be a tourist too much (always looking at a map, talking in a loud american accent lol etc) cos that will draw attention to you.......as for paris, i thought it was beautiful, not as crowded as london but still crowded, the eifel tower was kinda.....well the area was dirty and unclean, but the rest of the city (that i saw) was beautiful....the architecture is amazing and most of the people are friendly too......if you go up the eifel tower, go to the top cos it sways if the winds are strong lol.

you could always go to scotland and stay with my dad and brother for a day or 2 lol D

lol j/k, but London has been more known for their operas and historical attractions, it is not a place thats known for its food. Though i have yet to have any personal experience i heard it wasnt that great in terms of food. I personally would love to visit Oxford licoughli and London.

I love London, been there 4 times and spent a month there the summer after high school. Check out all the major tourist attractions but stay away from attractions that were created just for tourists. Off the top of my head you'll want to see Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, British National Museum, maybe Take a double decker bus tour, visit some of the major parks, take a good walking tour, the beatles one is fun. If you're bohemian type visit Camden, they have an open air market there but its not every day, just hold on to your wallet. Tons to do, one of my favorite cities. Also, if you are able to get out of the city(rent a car) visit some of the castles. Warwick is a good one. You might also want to go to Stratford where Shakespear was born.

If you go into Paris, make sure you see the Louvre, impressionist gallery, Eiffel Tower(you'll get to see plenty of street mimes in both cities), arch de triumph, notre dame, monte mart(sp?), and you should really make the time to go see Versailles.
