Ive already started looking into affiliate programs and I already know what kind of things I want to offer, but im unsure what to do now as far as page development. I know html but im definitely no expert. I was wondering if there were any templates out there for these type of sites if not can any1 help me? Any input regarding the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Customer service is very important. Make sure that you have enough help. It would be very hard to run a website by yourself, as the guy at freetechshop is finding out.

Here's the best recommendation...
Don't....

Why would you say that?
#1 Act professional. Use proper punctuation and capitalization. Don't use internet lingo.
#2 Hire staff or friends and give them a cut to help you with customer support
#3 Don't go live right away. Get to know your site. Have your friends try it out. You don't necessarily have to know HTML/PHP but you need to know how to trouble shoot if something were to go wrong
Good luck and if you need a partner contact me )

OC is a great sight to look at and get some ideas. Make the site look legit..looks are everything for most of these sites.

I'm gonna have to agree. Not that they are scams, but they don't work out. What will happen is a legitimate owner wants to open a site and then the users will defraud the offers causing the owner's entire check to be held. So he can't get gifts to the ppl who completed offers honestly & there's not evey any way they can tell who completely offers honestly and who didn't. Then everyone goes around calling it a scam.
That's the basic lifecycle of a user created free site.
