hmm, haven't used AIM for awhile because the software has a horrible windows 95 feel to it.
i've been using trillian, what makes gaim better than trillian?

i use MSN messenger....i really dont like AIM for the same "windows 95 feel" reason, it also seems way too cluttered....im not a huge microsoft fan but its free and it can be very well customised (no ads, no tabs, no nothing) which i like alot! plus you can now use any e-mail address to use it, unlike before where i believe you had to have a .NETurl==http://=http:///url Framework account (hotmail/msn e-mail address etc.).
if your interested go to www.mess.be they have an absolute shitload of stuff to customise MSN messenger.

If MSN messenger sent messages to AOL people I would use it. It's a quality program. But it doesn't, and the only people that seem to sign up for MSN accounts are old people, who wants to talk to old people, I sure don't.

I use Middle Man too with my AIM. Has some nice features like ad removal, cloning abilities, etc.
The best AIM enhancer is DeadAIM. And the best version is DeadAIM 4.5 and you'll need to get AIM 5.5.3595 You can download the AIM at oldversion.com and as for the 4.5 DeadAIM you can get it off a file sharring program like shareaza. What most people are retarded at doing is they don't put the deadaim.ocm file in their AIM folder which doesn't let the program work. Usually promts you with a window asking for an email and password or something which you don't need if you put that file in the AIM folder.

I use trillion. I really like the interface on it. It's for multiple messengers like AIM, ICQ, and MSN Messenger.

I think AIMutation is better then DeadAIM. Has all the same features and more, plus I like to change my look of my AIM

I use aimutation because I like the conversation logger better than deadaim, and it still uses the original interface unlike trillian (which is a very good program!) I've used aimutation for ~ a year or so, and like it, I haven't had any problems. I don't think you can use it on current versions of AIM, so you might need to dl an older version.
