Fair Price to Ask for An XBOX?

I won an XBOX at my school's graduation party, and I don't really have a need for it. What is a fair price to ask of my friends who have expressed an interest in buying it from me? It is brand new, and because they are local friends, there would be no shipping involved.

get as much as you can without pushing your luck or they may think you are trying to take advantage of them......i would ask just not much less than the retails price (not sure how much they go for now).

They sell for 150; I am thinking I will try 130, but all I have gotten so far is the ridiculous offer of 110.

well you're only going to make a profit, and if your just looking for money (as opposed to giving it a friend for less) then you could just sell it on ebay. you should definitely get more than $110 for it on there.

Yeah, Ebay will be the best thing you can do, or if you want more money then mod the xbox and you can get at least $350 for it

modding can be extremely hard if you dont know what you're doing
What you can co is have a bigger harddrive installed on your xbox and then you can put games on this bigger hard drive. It will cause a massive decrease in loading times.

I am trying to avoid ebay if possible for the simple reason that it is 11 pounds, and I doubt the bidding will go as high if I am charging $20 for shipping. But we shall see.

this only works if you have already installed the mod ship.
heres a few quick mods
1)the harddrive cable provided wth the xbox is a cheap shitty ATA33 cable replace that with a 166 or so and you already have faster loading time for only about 2$ spent, and only a cable replacement.
2) mod chips are NOT hard to install for the xbox, they all just slide right into the debugging port, in otherwords all you do is toss a glob of solder onto each pin, then your done.
3) new harddrive will let you do many things.....make sure the drive "supports locking" if you want to play online. Or it wont work.
4) besides being able to fully download games to the xbox, your also able to play Nintendo, SNES, N69, Sega, Atari games on the xbox (basically mod chip turns xbox into a PC),.....also you can edit the startup screen. (mine is blue and gold Go Mountaineers!)

oh...also modding the xbox is relatively cheap...
i paid 99$ for a 200gig Segate barracuda 7200rpm on ebay. Then 55$ for the excuter 3 modchip, this chip is the best available. (the4freezone offers this chip for 3 green)

So all in all you'd spend $150 more making it $300. Seems like you could charge more for that but an xbox can only go so far.

Just mod the Xbox
Get a 160GB HDD for $50 (ebay) Fry's (after Mail Rebate)
then buy a Modchip (Xenium Ice will be easier to install ans better than others)
and you are DONE, then just sell it (notee you cannot sell it on eBay) BUT you can use this forum or Xbox Scene

ATA is only supported to 133, and thats only from Maxtor. The next one is SATA150 but thast not your quoted 166. Anyways its more about the RPMs and Buffer size then it is about ATA speeds.

Shipped is the tough part... It will cost 15 easily to ship.. after PayPal fees, it will end up making me about the same. That's why I am trying my friends first. But I may come back to that offer; I will have to see what else I can get for it.

lmao. Yeah, if you put a chip, 160GB Harddrive, LEDs, LCDs, etc, and get a custom paint job.
I sell premodded Xboxes for $220.00 (Xecuter 3 chip).

2) Thats what most mod noobs say "Oh just toss some solder on it"... Then they come crying to me 2 weeks later to repair it because that "glob" of solder shorted out a trace on their LPC Bridge.
Modding is easy if youre patient, you can solder, and you know the Xbox motherboard.
1.6 consoles can be a little tricky with the LPC rebuild and getting used to soldering LFRAME instead of d0. Whenever I solder an LFRAME I get extremely nervous as its right next to a RAM chip.

If you don't know how to solder (is not hard)
Then you can buy a Solderless (no solder) easy to install
Buy the SPICE package (Xenium ICe) works for every Xbox version
