I like con, i like ham and i haven't had many interactions with stroid so i'll keep my opinion honest as can be.

The other forum that I'm active at is neowin.net and if something like this happened over there, it wouldn't have gone on for so long. It would have been shut down rather quickly. If ham is going to continue to act as such, i'd keep him locked out.

We can't expect our forum members to know what happens in IRC, the 2 are seperate. Ham clearly did it to pass a joke to admin/ty/bos and if you populate the IRC channel you'd know the sense of humor that is used there is harsh, very harsh, and very unforgiving to new people.

Very swift and unforgiving judgement is used in the IRC channel and is one of the reasons the forum is so much more popular than the IRC channel. Con shouldn't have gotten involved but look at his post count, I'm sure he doesn't care about the forum.

Whether to keep Ham banned or rebanned or similar... I guess that is up to admin/ty/bos. You can ban him, but he can proxy all day and all night if he's really upset. I'd keep the topic out of the public, let ham stay and if something similar happens again then try to enforce bans... But given his post count, after this is done and over with, will he be seen again? lishrugli
