I recenty bought a s-Video cable on ebay, it has 4 pins but when i connect mp laptop to my TV nothing shows..... Any help would be appreciated.....

Did you enable the tvout in your video settings?

it may need to be set to s-video output, not sure though, are you sure its svideo out (laptop that is)?


PS The quality sucks anyways, its literally all blur, if your going to do anything get a DVI imput TV and use DVI as a connection

dude if ur running windows, which my guess is you are...right click on the desktop go to properties....click the setting tab and then click advanced...then there should be something to enable the TV out...let me know how that goes

huh...any laptop i've seen w/ an s-video out has had to be switched that way....is there anything in your control panel?

Connect the cable to your PC and TV's S-video/composite and then restart your PC.

Then, do what oddjob1266 says (Display Properties->Settings Tab). You should see your TV as the secondary monitor. You can enable it there.

i restearted it while it is starting you can see it on the tv but not once it is up, im still clue less,........

i did nothing i was talkin to stroid and he gave me a link to the dell forums ( http//forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_video&message.id=128972&c=us&l=en&s=gen&cs= ) and it seems im not the only 1 w/ this problem....... but im still open to suggestions

well if there is any way u can start a vnc server or something on it i'd ble glad to look at it for u, but i doubt u'd want to do that....anyway good luck w/ that man....i don't know what else to tell you

So you aren't able to enable output to the generic TV in the setup screen?

My laptop has a shortcut key for swtching output. Have you checked if yours does?

If i were you dudeextrem2000....I'd really just be happy to have a laptop...some of us are stuck in the stone ages.....lol...oh well if I get enough referals someday I might start to catch up...
