According to AOL and The Discovery Channel, the top 10 greatest Americans are as follows
1 Ronald Reagan
2 Abraham Lincoln
3 Martin Luther King
4 George Washington
5 Benjamin Franklin
6 George W Bush
7 Bill Clinton
8 Elvis Presley
9 Oprah Winfrey
10 Franklin D Roosevelt
how likely is it that Ronald Reagan would have even appeared in the top 10, if he hadnt died last year?
here is the story from The BBC

That list is decent. It could have been worse, but then again it could have been a [u6a60cdf032]lot[/u6a60cdf032] better. Why Reagan is #1 i'll never know. And I think most people can agree that George W. shouldn't be on the top ten.

I'm really at a loss for words. Oprah above Susan B. Anthony, who gained women the RIGHT TO VOTE??? And what the fuck did Elvis ever do other than sing songs that people wrote for him and make shitty movies? I guess the people who voted for him looked at their commemorative Elvis stamp/coin collections and got the idea. What about Thomas Edison?? What about ANYONE ELSE? This list sickens me.

Bush shouldnt even be on there, look how he divided the nation. I can see Ronald Regan on there, but probably not as #1. He did do a lot with the Cold War though, and literally saved the world. Elvis and Oprah can also be taken off. As good as Clinton was he shouldnt be on there. Of all people i would say Thomas Jefferson deserves to be there, he drafted the consistution which is still be held up to this day.

I'm going to be nice because I like you, but
no, I think Bill Clinton was an average president who made the job a lot more entertaining for the public, I hate trees because all they do is cause allerges (well, besides that whole giving us air thing), and think gay sex is repulsive even though I'm fully in support of gay rights. So bleh! P P
I'm dead serious in my opinion that Reagan was one of the worst Presidents we've had, though. I'm pretty open minded, but this is one of the few issues that I simply cannot understand how you can think any differently on. I'm not here to start a flame war though, I do that on plenty of other forums.
By the way, I forgot to mention that you probably think (erronously) that I'm an ultra-liberal tree-hugging hippie, just as I think (most likely erronously) that you're a die-hard conservative jerkoff. My hate of Reagan doesn't stem from my political beliefs, it stems from what he did in office and my individual opinions on those actions.
