Ok, so here's the deal. Everytime I try to open task manager on XP it says that it was locked by an administrator. Well, I am the administrator so how the heck do you unlock it.

Yeah that happens to me too. I can't even close the window. I have to log on and off again. I hate my computer.

if its your work computer, then it was purposely locked by an administrator, i.e. your IT guy. if that's the case, don't mess with it.
if its your home comp, back up and format.
EDIT durrrrr i just read that you said YOU were the admin...... oops

For anyone else with the problem, first run a virus scanner to see if it picks up anything. If it dosent do the following
1.Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
^Copy and paste that into RUN
2. Download this file (Right click save target as)
http//windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/EnableTM.reg
3. Double Click that file, it asks you to add it to registry, say yes.
4. Open Registry Editor (Start> Run> regedit.exe/regedit)
5. Follow these Folders
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
6. I just deleted the DisableTaskMgr file, you can set it's data to 0.

i format my HD with the OS on it once every three months at least. I hate it when my pc starts to showsigns of slowing down due to spyware, and all that other shit . Keep all the stuff iwanna keep on my spare HD, both are 200gig.
