I've had paypal for years now, but I never really took a close look at this.

Someone sent me $300 via echeck over paypal.
The money takes 3-4 business days to clear into my account (according to paypal).

My question is this

Is the $300 pending echeck already added to my balance? Or will it be added once it clears?

IE - I have $1000 in there now. Will it be $1300 in 3-4 days? Or is that $300 already included in the $1K?

I beleive it will be added once it clears, I have been paid with eChecks several times.

It'll be $1,000 until the echeck clears.

Think about it wood. If it was added right away before the check cleared and the echeck bounces then wheres that $300 come from if you already spent it?

I have been paid with 2 eChecks, I had to wait until they cleared then, I got paid.

I think that if you export your paypal log (into an Excel file, for example), it'll show you the account balance before/after every transaction on your account. That's one way to make sure.

it'll be added to your balance once it clears. your history tells you your balance for every transaction. for an echeck i received, there's one line stating "payment from x" w/ out the amount added to my balance and then another line stating "update from x - cleared" w/ the cleared funds added to the balance.
