last time i checked i can't put a laptop in my (very large) pockets. if i had a laptop and a v1.50 psp that could do NES games and all that jazz i probably wouldnt update either. as it is, i'm looking forward to it.

be pretty hard from what I've heard. heard Sony really covered over the exploits that were there in ver 1.0 and 1.5. Ive heard of them coming up with modchips but thats gonna be pretty hard since the machine is so small itself. Id recommend selling the new version PSP and trying to get an older version

i still think its hackable. some one will lock themselves in a basement till they get it.

Lol. People with 1.0 and 1.5 really dont care about all this. Was real glad to know Im 1.5. Getting my 1gb memory chip and usb cable on mon. It will be so on after that. Ive already downloaded all the iso's and movies I need. I just need to go on a plane trip so I can put it to full use.

ive heard that newer systems come with the upgraded firmware and that newer games will require an update to the new firmware to be played. i belive theyve released a patch that prevents you from updating though.

Yeah the newer games are coming out with the updates built in and I'm sure that will remain pretty much standard moving forward.
But, no matter what they put out... it will definitely get hacked. Look at the number of XBox versions that have been produced over the years. And how many of them have not been broken? 0. Thank god for those basement dwelling nerds that give us the ability to manipulate our hardware/software the way we want to use it.
I have also been a little disappointed at the game selection. Seems like they are putting most of the effort in gettig the UMD movies out ASAP.
Don't need it, I'll stick with my v1.5
