I have the free minimac i got, 1.42ghz w/1gb ram DVD/CDRW (no dvd burner)

My friend is offering me his old 500mhz g4 powerbook, 1gb ram, 80gb harddrive, airport card (though its .b and not .g), bluetooth... but no cd burner.

Think this is a good trade?

Is that a 15" screen? I would say its fair. Try to find comparable models to both on ebay and see for sure.

value wise it may be even, but productivity wise, prob not. What you need to remember, is that apple is not in the mhz race, and they didn't bump up speeds until the past 18 months I believe. So a 500mhz powerbook is far superior to a 500mhz p2 or p3.
