I just read that they cracked it open, and I really really want it. If anyone can hook me up with it, or where to get it, I would greatly appreciate it, and it may be worth a ref to you.

I am with you on this one. I really need it as well. If somebody could also help me out I'd appreciate it. Once I get it would it be possible to run windows xp on the same pc as well? I heard about a partition on the hardrive but never tried it. Thanks.

Mac OS x86 won't run on a partition. The only way to make it work on a computer with windows is to install it on a second hard drive

ok, I would buy a second hard drive to make this work. Do you know where I can get the OS though?

I read an article from slashdot or somewhere, where they had the OSx x86 running on the developer system with linux and windows partitions.
Edit here is one article telling how to do it.
http//wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to
Here they have a dual boot OSx and XP machine

you have always been able to run xp off of the intel/mac developers machine. However, you can only get one if you are a qualified Mac OS developer. Also, Apple used TPM to make sure that you could not install OS X for Intel on any X86 system, rather only Apple authorized system. This protection has been cracked in the past few days, and I as wondering if anyone had any info on it.

From what I understand, it has been cracked, but the crack has not been fully released to the public yet. Does anyone know if this is true. Will this run on any X86 Machine, or only newer intel stuff? do you need vmware to run it, or will we eventually be able to run it natively. From what I understand VMware is just an emulator which is slow and not secure. Does anyone know anything more about this that can explain it more clearly?

it won't work unless you have SSE2 for your processor, and audio and some other programs won't work unless you have SSE3 (newer P4s and AMD 64 bit)

I found this guide (http//www.tech-recipes.com/apple_mac_tips964.html) and I'm trying it this way now. Rather simple.

There have been alot of fakes but I guess this one (thru vmware) is legit. So yeah, you need to use vmware but there are DVDs with everything already packaged in. I downloaded a Mac x86 DVD iso a few weeks ago (supposed to be native, saying how you need SSE2 and so on..) but it was another fake.
I have the vmware image that just came out but haven't tested it.
