So Sunday on my ay to work I get hit with the random ticket for talking on my cell phone the other day. Shitty deal but hey what can you do? Atleast I wasn't late for work. Though, I'm going to measure the closest encounter between my vehicle and where the cop was parked...and bring that information to court. We'll see how well this cop's vision holds up ) Not to mention that he pulled me over not even 1/4 mile away from my house...and like 4 inches into a 30mph zone telling me i was doing 41 in a 30...."YEA YOU MORON, THATS BECAUSE I JUST CAME OUT OF A 40 MPH ZONE...." Guy was clearly out to write tickets...I hate cops around my house because they all do the same shit...hide somewhere where the speedlimit changes to 30 and try to bust people that aren't doing 30-35 by the time they "enter" the speedzone. Oh well, Happy Birthday to me.

Man thats bullshit. The cops here aren't horrible, but some can be bad. Happy Birthday though.

Yeah that sucks. I know exactly what you're talking about too. I've seen those cops on the road who do that. Everyone around here flashes their headlights to warn of cops up ahead.

It might be illegal but it doesn't stop people from doing it. Just a few days ago I saw a cop talking on his cell phone while cruising around in his patrol car.

If they're not in pursuit, its against the law. Not that it'll ever happen...but it IS a punishable offense.

Yeah I don't know what it is with NY cops. One of the town by me the sit there with binoculars watching for no seatbelts and cell phones.

In NY it is not illegal for police, fire, or ems to be on cell phones while driving.



And technically the moment you pass a speed limit sign, it is instanteously that speed. It theoretically doesn't matter if it was a 40 zone you were in before and you just passed a sign for 30. Once you pass that sign, its 30. Of course depending on the judge, there is typically some give-n-take with that magic speed limit line if you get a speeding ticket just pass a change in speed sign going from higher to lower. The other way around,if they catch you accelerating before an increase in speed sign is typically more difficult to get out of. .

ok, no bashing NYPD. Those guys have the shittiest jobs ever. I went on a ride along with one a few months ago. The precinct I was in was like a third world country. I went into the subway and it was a nice place, when I came out I was the only white guy and it was hell on earth. Plus NYPD gotta pay for their own uniforms and other equiptment they don't have an allowance alloted every year like most PD's do. Sooo... we all get tickets.. well maybe not all of us, but don't be hatin.

Very true...but its a dick move...their trying to catch people who are speeding without really intending to. You let me know the next time you see someone slam on their brakes to drop to 55 when they enter a 30mph zone. Further, you must also consider the angle at which the officer is getting his/her radar/laster/other reading. If they are sitting 10 feet into the speed zone, they are clocking you before you're ever into it.

That said, I [ie2b159c6cf]do[/ie2b159c6cf] appreciated our law enforcement, but its ridiculous what some of these guys do to write tickets.
