My Cyberpower X-plorer came today in fine shape except for one thing.

It came with a box that had hdd cables, several other small wires, an instruction manual for my graphics card of all things, and a little thing that looks like it needs to be installed somewhere...

Why didn't they put this in themselves? Or am I just being stupid? Is it just extra cables "in case"? lol

Edit Found a place in a manual that is telling me to install all sorts of things. Yeah, figures roll

You should take a picture of what you mean.

I think that maybe one of the components, like the HD, or CD-RW had cables aside from the ones that come with the mobo, and that they just forgot to remove the surplus.

Still, a picture, or a more detailed description will help.

3 of these, labeled "HDD", "FDD" and another "HDD".

That is an sata hd cable if you happen to buy an sata HD. Pretty sure all mobo's come with them.

Not sure, some sort of power adapter. I would probably say pretty assuredly you dont have to install this. lol

Just regular ATA66 hard drive and microfloppy drive "ribbons". Just an extra that comes with mobo too.

Just wondering, does that PC come with a sata or ata hard drive?

That's a sata power adapter that will allow a sata hard drive to get power from a standard molex power conenctor if your power supply does not have sata power connectors. I would assume they just threw that in the box as an extra, or something that came with the motherboard.

Also, the only manuals you should have are for individual pieces of hardware (motherboard, video card, etc). The system lishouldli be ready to go right out of the box.

The "spare" parts are just a courtesy. The systems are essentially "plug and play" - just plug it in and turn it on and you're good to go.

Thanks guys!

The Windows key they gave me was invalid so I had to use mine from the laptop. The mouse was also busted. Other than that everything is smooth running. It's great.

Does the X-plorer have a DVD burner or no?

Thanks for everyones help.

Just because you got it free doesn't mean that its acceptable!! Contact Cyberpower and let them know. The mouse is, if its the same one I got, a piece of shit, though.

It's all kosher, except for the mouse. Mine's crap too. Probably should eBay that and the keyboard, but haven't got round to it yet.
