The Price of Referals

I think its getting out of hand these referal prices, $30? 30x5 = 150$
Price of IPod Nano = 250 saving only $100.
Don't get me wrong when I say only $100. But for a freesite, I'd expect it to be much more. I can see if you're paying for a casino site and pay to cover the deposit but I don't think many of these require that.

Thoughts?

I definately agree. I was thinking of paying 10$ each for people to do the Trainn xbox360 site for me.. but paying more seems like it's too much of a hassle/investment to truely be a "free site".

Trade for them if you aren't willing to pay for them. At that price they aren't meant to be the sole way to get referrals. Trade for a some, get friends to do some and buy the remainder, everyone's happy.

Thats what I do.

I personally refuse to pay more than $20 for refs. And I won't charge more than that either.

this is really gettin rediculus, i just payed 30 for each ref, the demand has gone up.

im very aware of it, but what about when you used to be able to pay 5-10-15..

it is what it is.

I look at it like this I got 350 from train(3604free) in paypal. This is just referral money. Spending it all on starting and finishing flashipods4free, yourfreeflatscreen, and nano ipods.

Im through with nano ipods just wait for two refs to go green

and only 3 refs away from finishing the other two sites.

I get = 500 paypal + ipod nano.

Thats a net profit of 150 and an ipod nano
So I see only profit.

I agree though anything over 30 is excessive. But thats why its a trading post and not a congo line. if someone offers 5 more than someone else they are gonna get their referrals faster

I'm not an economics expert or anything but on a very simple level price is determined by the balance of supply and demand. Since everyone here has done pretty much all the sites it is getting harder and harder for people to find referrals through trade which drives the price up given that there is a steady demand. Now for nanos the supply was at its maximum when it launched but the demand skyrockets as people try to finish faster than the others in here. Both drive the price up, and here we are today.

Just thought I'd drop some basic econ in here, might as well put it to some use after paying so much to take the classes...haha

In retrospect I probably did pay too much, and probably couldve waited a little bit and got new users to do it for 20 or something but I don't care, im getting one of those bad boys and soon

same, on my nano site, i was going to do a trade, but complications came about so i ended up paying $22-30 for each ref. i signed up the night it opened. i was going to do $20 but by the time i had signed up and completed my offer, the price was slowly going up (22, 23) so i went ahead and went to 25. needless to say i got all 5 of my refs within 45min-hour of signing up.

Bingo, it works both ways....

This is what happens with a free market, supply & demand dictate the prices....

I won't ever pay nomore then $30 even for my last referral.

At $25 a referral, you are still saving half off with any gratis site, since each referral is wourth $50, other sites are not wourth as much as a gratis offer, and some still try to get the high amount for them..

Oh ok 120 still......I might have to pick on a few new guys to get it done for 25 or less. I'll have to do some cash offers for people to offset the cost.

There are free offers, so that could even be less! Highly doubtful, but is possible.

I think buying a domain redirect will be cheap and be fast to get refs as long as you post it in a lot of places

I mean seriously who started the bidding at 25? Need to fix rates or something. Probably too late for nano site but the price of referal is repeating the rise of gas.

the only site i used paypal money to finish most of my refs was free360xbox. it is almost impossible for me to get refs now so i usually rely on congas when sites are released.
As for the xbox 360.. I got 3 refs from a conga (was a 3 ref conga).. then I sold my PSP i got from freepsps (since i never used it).. got $200 for that. Then I offered people $32 to be my ref. $32 x 5 = $160. So basically, even though no money was taken outta my pocket, it was $160 for a $400 gift.

But thats just because i really really wanted an xbox 360. Now I am just waiting for new sites and get on a conga and get all my refs that way. Already finished ipod nanos from it.

I've yet to pay for a refferal, I just get my friends to sign up on sites for me with prepaid CC's.

thats a pretty damn good idea. Most of the people i know are too paranoid to use their own CC......
