Just got my Nano in today, and I noticed after accidentaly dropping it for the first time, when the heaphone plug came out the ipod sensed it and put it on pause. Is this a new feature? I know my shuffle doesn't do this.

Ah, haven't had a full sized ipod in awhile and didn't know. Still it's a cool feature.
This thing is so freaking small. still kinda heavier than I expected, but very very sturdy.

At the apple store, they look for scratches /dents on the case and use that as an excuse not to repair your ipod under warranty. I had one guy claim Apple used a specific metal on the back of the cases just so they would be able to tell if it had been dropped. I'm not sure how much I believe him - the back sure does pick up scratches though.

I've only owned one ipod (40gig 4g) and I've noticed that feature since the first or second day I had it.

I guess the feature was an early drop detector so the ipod can stop the hard drive. I think it's pretty sweet to be able to pick up where the song left off.

It doesn't resume playing when I plug the headphone, so I gotta dig into my pocket, switch off lock mode, press play, switch lock mode, put back in pocket. Its annoying as fuck when I'm jogging and it pulls out when I turn my head or something too fast and I have to stop to fix it.
