Does that matter in Canada? A University is made up of several colleges but we consider them synonyms here.

well in canada... if your marks aren't high enough, then you go to college to learn for a couple of years then go to University....

All I can say is that a college is not always a university but a university is always made up of colleges )
That said, I attend Saint John Fisher COLLEGE and as far as I've heard the administration here plans to turn the school into Saint John Fisher UNIVERSITY within the next 5-10 years. We've just had a bunch of new additions, including a new dorm building...and recently got a $5M grant for a School of Pharmacy. Not to mention our new turf thanks to the Buffalo Bills ) (They train here in the offseason).

Congrats on getting admitted UCF. It was always my understanding that college and university for the most part were differentiated by the size of the school....for example I attended Birmingham-Southern College (small liberal arts school) for awhile and now attend Auburn University (23,000+)...but hey I could be wrong. lol

i'm actually a big fan of deletrius but this just isn't true ... i'm 2nd year at the university of waterloo for engineering so don't think i'm offended for colleges, but the story up here is more like ...
if you're interested in management/senior/technical positions and/or masters/phd studies, you go to university ... if you want these things but can't get into university, it's possible to take college courses and reapply to your program ... however the majority of college applicants are people looking to learn the hands-on and useable aspects of their field, rather than the theoretical/inventive aspects
please feel free to share any thoughts, and/or hijack this thread lol,
CONGRATS shorty!! getting in is a sweeet feeling
