I don't know if any of you got this problems, but I live in Minneapolis, MN and yesterday, I came home from school and the whole damn road was filled with flyings bugs.
I don't know what they are, but they are nasty as hell. It looked like a lady bug because of orange colors, but when they arent flying, it look like a beetle. It has wings and under their wings, it's bright orange.
Just now, I went out to eat and I took my mom's car. Pop open the trunk and saw literally 200 of these critters under the hood of the trunk, creeped the shit outa me. I screamed like a little girl. Would some bug spray at target get rid of these things?

Is it one of these?

They tend to make their appearance around this time of year...thus they are affectionately known as the Halloween Beetle (it is actually an Asian Lady Beetle). Don't squish them...they splatter an ink-like substance!

When they are that bad, i doubt anything short of exterminators would do anything.
Sounds a little like Japanese Beetles, but I dont think they are orange under their wings.
You could maybe try some citronella candles, but it might do much when there are that many of them.

They don't bite.....
At least I don't think.
Yesterday, saw this weird looking beetle on the ground and I tried to pick it up with this magazine I had in my hand. It didn't want on but I finally got it on. It walked to the top of the magazine and it sprayed this clear liquid all over my magazine then it flew off.
It was quite disgusting. I threw the magazine away.

Where in Minneapolis do you live? I live in St Louis Park, and haven't seen an outbreak of bugs.

We just have gnats...
What's God's explaination for gnats, Godrock? I've always wondered.

It's neither one of those 2.
It's black all on the outside, but once they lift up their wings, you can see bright orange.
They are pretty thin and about 1/3 of an inch.
Edit I live near downtown.

yesterday it was like the 1st picture, not that extreme but about half of that.
I was walking to my house and the damn bugs keep flying into my face, ran inside my house and took a shower.
They're gone now, or at least, not flying around. They're still under my mom's car trunk, probably under every car'r trunk that was parked on the street.
Took 1 of those window brush used for scraping off ice in the winter and brushed them all off, crushed like half of them while the other half flew away. It was kinda fun actually, I was trying to hit the one that was flying with the scraper. Got a few, but they just ended stuck onto the brush, didnt go flying like I hoped (

Not sure what you have, but here in Indiana at this time, we have tons of lady bugs flying around looking for a warm place to hibernate in the winter, and it sucks when they find a way inside. lol

One of the reasons my husband and I live in PA instead of his native North Dakota is because of "mosquito season"
