Trade Module Feature Addition: eBay Style Feedback

As always, FiPG is staying ahead of the game in trades. People (rightly) complain that trade ratings alone do not paint a good picture of a trader. In light of this, I have implemented a system to allow users to leave feedback for each other.

When you request TR for a trade now, you will get a dialog asking you to leave feedback. Your comment is stored with the trade. You can change it until the trade is credited, at which point it becomes a permanent part of the user's profile.

You can view anyone's trade comments by going to their profile. You can see a test case by looking at FreeOffersNow's profile[=http//forum.freeipodguide.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1856]FreeOffersNow's profile.

Let me know if anyone observes any bugs or irregularities!

P.S. you can thank theysayjump for this idea!

looks nice admin...just one idea

Put in some code that will block a referral link from being entered into someone's feedback.

I can see someone finishing a trade and putting their referral link in the other person's Feedback....

22-10-2005 09:23:09

Thats actually a brilliant idea, because just a number doesn't say much about a trade. Ok, so you could have eventually completed the trade and gotten TR, but that doesn't say if it took you two months to green and you refused to talk to the other person while whacking off to animated porn.

Good idea!

ilanbg

22-10-2005 09:42:31

Will the feedback left be hidden until they both submit? I can imagine someone writing "took two months to green..." and the other leaving feedback that says "whines a lot" for revenge or something.

Admin

22-10-2005 10:43:51

Feedback is hidden to all but moderators until the trade is credited, so each person doesn't know what the other wrote until the feedback is finalized and unchangable.

First off, any kind of link in the feedback box will not be clickable. Second, anyone putting a referral link in the feedback box will probably be banned. If that's your #1 worry then I think we're doing pretty good around here.

[quotef004170b1e="dudeextrem2000"]nice move but when you get theses messages, is it going to just keep filling up or will it be like ebay "View 100 per page" or whatever Nice feature though[/quotef004170b1e]

As of now it'll just keep scrolling. I might put it in its own iframe if it becomes a big issue.

Exactly. I've gone first for someone and paypaled $25 and then it takes them 3-4 days to sign up and do an offer. They go green and deserve TR but I'd like to warn people they are slow as dirt to do an offer...

When you have completed atrade, click on the drop down menu on the right and change your status from its current status, to Request TR. As TylerC said, a pop-up will.....pop-up and ask you to leave feedback.

Go to the user's profile and the TR-- link is there.

theysayjump

12-02-2007 06:11:53

The TR-- is for staff members to reduce someones TR and can only be used by staff members.

As for leaving negative feedback, it's very easy. When you hit Request TR and the pop-up box opens up, in the field where you leave feedback, just write it in a negative manner, criticising the trader's "momma" is always a good indication the trade didn't go very well.

HI
I thought I would see if you wanted to make some money
I have 2 sites I need done this weekend. I am paying 80.00 for the two and a $10.00 bonus if green in 24 hrs.
the sites are SONY VBUX and APPLE VBUX ... you should be able to do both for around a 15.00 investment.
let me know because I am filling up the remaining spots fast.
PM ASAP please
I went green and asked for my payment I was then told it was upon her approval which was something never mentioned in none of the emails.
I tried to leave tr but the popup never give me a chance to leave feedback. What do I do because I still have not been paid?

masuja

Margot530

28-03-2007 06:45:13

I was wondering if the other trader got to see what I put before they entered their info regarding their experience. I was always abel to read my response on their profile before the tr was credited, so it was a natural assumption. Unfortunately it kept me from being a bit more honest, but it has been less than enthusiastic. I didn't want someone writing a bad review about me purely for revenge.

So, even though I can see what I entered on their profile prior to the tr being credited, no one else can, including the other trader? That's awesome!

Thanks,

Your security settings probably don't allow it to come up. Make sure all pop-up blockers are off and you need to make your security settings as low as possible and that should fix the problem. Also make sure your browser is accepting all cookies.

maybe you're trading with people with less than 4 TR

BogJuan

If you have less then 4 TR then can you not leave feedback? Because it didn't let me leave feedback on my first trade.

TravMan162

28-07-2008 15:55:05

no you should be able to. I was mistaken in that last post. Keep in mind that you are prompted to leave feedback ONLY when you switch to "Request TR" in the trade module.

Try this

--Go to the trade module
--Look at the trade in question
--Go to the scroll box
--Change the option from "Request TR" to "Gone green"
--Change it back to "Request TR"

It should prompt you to leave feedback. The only reason I know that you have a trade set to "Request TR" is because your current TR record is 0. If you don't have a trade on "Request TR" then that is why you weren't prompted to leave feedback.

Hurry though before the mods credit your trade, because once TR is credited, you're shit out of luck with leaving feedback.

BogJuan

29-07-2008 10:28:40

Hmmm.... ok I tried that and the box popped up saying I will need to leave feedback right after I hit ok. So I hit ok and it doesn't give me the option.
