How well do you think 40gb Ipod photo can sell on ebay?

I will try and see.
I don't know if anyone has had any luck here.
I want it to sell for about $280.00 ~ $320.
It's less than a year old, and I will include all accesories except the adapter.
What do you guys think.
I will post my auction page up here.
Apple is so full of it anyway. The reason why the prices have come down is because they box the ipod with nothing these days. Me thought it may be better to sale the "extras" in separate auctions but not sure yet...

if you wanted to sell it, you should have made up your mind to do so a
while ago...... new ipods have been coming out every few weeks it seems.... ?

I wouldn't pay 320 for a 40 when I could pay 300 for a new 30 with video or 400 for a new 60 with video.

I said 280 to 320
Not 320 which is just wishful thinking on my part.
And that's taking into account cases, Itrip, ITalk..
Calm down.

i just sold my 60gb photo ipod on ebay with an iskin, fm transmitter, and car charger and it only went for $295 so i'd say you'd be lucky to get $200 for yours. I was ok with $295 though because its enough to go get the 30gb Video iPod i want now.

put that thing as buyitnow (for like 300)... for like 3 days... see how many hits you get... maybe you'll even get a buyer ;)

I would rather keep it than sell it for less than $240.
I mean, video ability and all, the 40gb model still has more storage capacity and that should count for something.

Agghhhh, reserves are the biggest turnoff I have when it comes to bidding.
I'd not suggest that in the future =\

Yeah i know i almost never bid on anything with a reserve very few people do. And dude i think you would be pretty lucky to get $250 shipped.

If I didn't put it on reserve, I would have had to start the price really high, Which is also a turn off in my opinion.
Those don't get much bids either. More people bid on auctions with reserves than those with really high starting prices. Or in most cases they end up waiting to the last minute to bid.
The reserve isn't even that high.
Some people are putting 40gb Photo ipods with just $300.00 buy it now prices.
And if for some reason, the last bid doesn't meet my already low reserve price, I don't want to sell it anyway.
I've put several past auctions up with reserve prices and have had no problems. In fact, I've been keeping track of several other 40 gb photo auctions and they have also sold for above my reserve price easily.
I mean, if my reserve price isn't met the next attempt will just be a higher starting price is all.

sell 2 me for 125

But when you set a low price with no reserve, you get a huge opening baragge of bids (many from newbs.) I bet it would already be up to $150 with NR.

That's okay...
I guess you're right. There have been 6 bids so far but I just didn't wan't to risk an end price of $150 or something. I'm guessing more people will bid on the last day.
hehehhehe

Starting low and not using reserve prices is a basic ebay strategy. You may have to be ballsy but keep in mind that no one's going to let that get away for $150. By making the auction as attractive as possible, you're bound to catch one or two fools that will bid it higher than they should. Having 100% feedback would help too.
That being said, we should have a rule to cut down on these goddamn ebay posts.

Read some of the other threads I've posted in here re eBay. The market will set the price of your iPod - there's no reason to ever use a reserve, and it costs you money - a bad thing.
However, out of pity, I've revised your description to fix the mispelled words.
[quote3bef895436]You are bidding on a used 4th Generation 40gb iPod Photo. I've owned this unit since February 2005 so it's not yet a year old. The Apple warranty is therefore still valid until February 2006.
I have not used the iPod very much since it was purchased. It is in perfect working condition and cosmetically still great. There are some very superficial scratches on the on the surface of the unit, including the screen, but they are not very visible unless you hold the iPod up towards a bright light source and can probably be removed with cleaner. The back of the unit is free of scratches and 100% perfect. I have used 13.86gb out of the available 40gb. I can restore the Ipod to factory settings if you wish, but you would be missing out on some great music from the likes of Richard Wagner to Kanye West![/quote3bef895436]
You probably also want to say that you'll only shipped to Paypal confirmed addresses.
hehehhehe
28-10-2005 13:36:53
My guess is that you set the reserve to $240, and bidding will not reach that. You'll relist next week, follow our advice, use doylnea's spell checked description (since you can't modify it anymore on the current description), and get at least $250 wink . Maybe get rid of that text color while you're at it.

Having a low S/H ($5 or lower,) and putting that in your title also helps a lot.
