Alright well, last night I was on my computer and I got a battery dieing warning, about five minutes later the computer went into hibernate. About an hour later I turned the computer back on and used it for about a half hour and all of a sudden my battery just died and my computer turned off. When I got home I turned on the computer and it loaded and the screen came up saying my computer didn't shut down right and if I wanted to continue booting up normally or have it boot up in one of the safe modes. I tried every single one of them. What happens is when the windows logo pops up with the little loading bar under it it starts to load then it just resets. I tested both sticks of RAM and they're both good. I have yet to actually get into windows. Any ideas?

It sounds like a startup file got corrupted. I'd boot from WinXP disk, when it loads you say you want to install XP, hit enter then F8, then it will search for a exsisting install. Hopefully it finds your exsisting install and hit R to start a repair. It will go through like the first install and then it should work. Sorry if some of the steps aren't right but I'm going off memory.

Or maybe I should read the thread but it sounds like you did what I suggested. That happened to me when I was fixing a friends computer because I removed a ton of spyware and the repair fixed it...
