Sounds like the first shipment of 360's will go the way of the first shipment of XBOX's (

What is the manufacture date on yours? Mine is 11-02-05 and I have logged about 40 hours on mine and not one freeze. I have mine vertical and nothing behind it or around it.

I HATE Microsoft so much now. They suck big fat balls.

the first generation of any new tech item always sucks. the manufacturer gets complaints from the consumers and they fix all/most of the problems in the second generation (ex ps2's first gen error was the disc reading problems)
im glad im selling all of mine...

Does anyone know when Best Buy will release more xbox 360's online? Walmart has the core one in stock now )
you want to set it up verticle in an open place.

[quote86826d402a="motz"]you want to set it up verticle in an open place.[/quote86826d402a]
That's the best for it? Why is vertical the best?
Averagejoe1039

I would think Vertical would be the worst for it. I mean the pS2 Froze that way. People were having problems with it. I would think Horizontal would be the best. Josh Box try horizontal.

I was thinking along those lines too.... But I don't think that having it vertical or horizontal is the problem. I think that it's just that Microsoft released these 360's prematurely and they are having problems.

Yeah. By 2nd shipment do you mean like next week?

I highly doubt that. They'll probably update it after Christmas when they get more complaints about it.

Isn't that just special? Someone told me they got one, no problems at all. I don't know, could it just be certain systems?

It most likely is just certain systems but time will tell...

[quotec6a87a1820]Well, it seems that
our article about crashing Xbox 360 consoles[=http//www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEFkZkkkyEHasmrPqu.php]our article about crashing Xbox 360 consoles posted yesterday
made some noise...[=http//next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1712&Itemid=2]made some noise...
A Microsoft spokesperson said only a "very, very small fraction" of the units had problems, but she declined to say how many reports the company had received (according to
CNN/Reuters[=http//money.cnn.com/2005/11/23/technology/personaltech/xbox.reut/]CNN/Reuters).
This is what
next-gen.biz[=http//next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1720&Itemid=2]next-gen.biz got from Microsoft
"The vast majority of Xbox 360 owners are having an outstanding experience with their new systems,"
"We've received a few isolated reports of consoles not working as expected. The call rate is well below what you'd expect for a consumer electronics product of this complexity. As a percentage of the total number of Xbox 360 systems already in the field, these calls represent a very small fraction. That being said, there is no systemic issue with Xbox 360. Each incident is unique and these customer inquires are being handled on a case-by-case basis. Ultimately, customer satisfaction is our highest priority. Anybody having an issue with their Xbox 360 console should call 1-800-4 MY XBOX immediately so that we can help, or visit www.xbox.com/support."
While the problem certainly doesn't look massive, new reports are still coming in on
this thread[=http//forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=462099]this thread (and more accross
our Xbox 360 section[=http//forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=129]our Xbox 360 section or on other forums like
teamxbox.com[=http//forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=391764]teamxbox.com). It's of course not possible for us to verify all these reports, but some people certainly have real problems with their 360.
While not representative (for the simple reason that people who have problems are more likely to vote/post/shout than people who don't have problems), the poll on the
teamxbox forums[=http//forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=392599]teamxbox forums suggests ~15% of the Xbox 360 owners have problems (on +400 total votes). The real % is probably lower, but it's hard to say how many exactly atm.
