I recently got the panasonic pv-gs31 and got an apple brand 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable from ebay and now I found out that I don't think I have a firewire port on my computer. Should I buy the part to install into the computer that gives the firewire ports or what? I want to avoid spending a lot of money so if anyone sees what I should get on ebay, please let me know. This stuff is really confusing me and I dunno what I need to buy to get the videos to my computer. Thanks for any help.

You have a firewire cable.. and you acknowledge you need a firewire card.
so your solution is.. buy a firewire card
