21-12-2005 23:53:47

How much do airports cost?

Wolfeman

22-12-2005 00:37:12

Airport is just a wireless access point. I think there are better out there than the airport IMO...

I'd probably buy an iBook or an iMac G5 the moment it could run BF2, BF1, or Call of Duty 2 well... Windows blows. lol I have some hope for Vista, though...

Just get a wireless router and stop mooching. It's not like you have to pay more for magical wireless access. Just the one time $50 router and you have your own wireless network. And don't be dumb like your neighbor - password protect it.

airport is awesome. i am probably going to get airport extreme in a month or so. i am turning my desktop into an htpc so it will sit next to my tv in my bedroom. but i will just put the printer in one of the closets and have a wire going out to an outlet that airport will be plugged into and have a networked prrinter ). o, and im using my mac to type this while im watching tv on the couch )

awesome! thanks!

btw, one of my favorite case makers is www.vajacases.com ... they make cases for PSP's, PDA's, cameras, mp3 players, and cellphones. when you order your case you get to customize it (pick color combos, engravings, belt clip options, etc). a little pricey, but probably the nicest cases i've seen yet.

Sorry I'm confused. What is that link for? I clicked on it, but what is an extended desktop??

turpentinedreams

22-12-2005 18:47:27

it lets you run 2 monitors like the built in display and an external display and it not mirror itself but run like a normal mac would with 2 monitors.
it also lets you bump up the resolution on the external monitor.

agroman

22-12-2005 18:51:14

yeah, by default the VGA port only support mirroring (same image on the external monitor as what is displayed on the LCD).

this lets you actually drag a window from one screen to another for more desktop space.

i agree wholeheartedly.

I mean if I'm carrying my $1000 item around I don't want to flash it off and say IBOOK HERE! COME AND GET IT! you know? I'd just like to keep a low profile.. Just my opinion. I'm not against any other cases, but where I live it'd be unwise to do so.

I don't think that me having a sleeve that says the name of my laptop in tiny print will make any difference. I live in the city, and so maybe it isn't wise. But it's a [i8733ae8405]sleeve[/i8733ae8405] and it will be [i8733ae8405]inside[/i8733ae8405] a laptop bag as well. People wouldn't know any less that I had a laptop in there without the "12" iBook" printed tiny in the corner. I wanted to get a sleeve that was specifically for the ibook. Because the 12" ibook and powerbook don't have the same dimensions. That is what was recommended on the macrumors forums. I'm pleased with my purchase! )
