question for +kma
I got an iTrip for christmas but it wont work with my new 60gb vid ipod
should I get the new one?
is there a better product that accomplishes the same goal?
what is the sound quality like on the itrips?
I wanna be able to listen to it in my car, w/o having to change cd players and such.
if you have any strong opinons to wiegh in on with itrips id love to hear them, before I drop $50 on one

i had an itrip mini, the sound quality sucked pretty bad. however, the new ones are supposed to be really good. they plug in at the bottom.
well griffin is probably gonna come out with the new itrip that will work with ur 60 gb
the sound quality is iffy depending if ur in a big city or suburban
i mean it gets the job done but for the car there is other alternatives if u got a cassette player for like 30 dollars cheaper

Casette players sound a lot better, too.. It's like a 15 dollar ipod-to-casette attachment..
However, not alot of people have casette decks in their cars anymore P
or most good cd players or the newer ones have ipod inputs and what not.

Sure, if you have it added in.. but not many have it standard.

iTrips are CRAP. hardwire it to your stereo via the AUX input. i've done it on my previous car and the current one, and it totally blows away any iCraps.

I must agree, a good friend of mine had this done for next to nothing at a car audio shop and it sounds great. The iTrip's suck and mine broke after two months.

did you get the old one that isn't compatible with the new iPods?
if so griffin has a newer model that connects to the dock input
I personally like iTrips... also if it isn't working, you can call/e-mail griffin and they'll issue you a new one.

they work, but when you connect the AUX cable, you'll hear the difference, believe me. instead of it sounding like it's coming from a shitter, it'll sound godlike.

AUX input is a more accessible option than a lot of people think. many reasonably new cd and even tape decks have cd changer controls built in - if so, you can almost certainly buy an aux bridge for it that basically fools the head unit into thinking your ipod is a cd changer, allowing direct input. just google it.

The wife drives an old Cavalier, with a stock stereo no cassette. Until one of you nice folks decides to pony up for a new car for her, this solves my problem.
