Unlocking a GSM phone (Black RAZR)

Where can i get this thing unlocked? Anyone with experience?

No, i have the phone. But it is locked to cingular. I want to unlock it so i can use it when i go overseas.

If you call the company and tell them that they will probably give you the unlock code..it just may cost 25 or 50 dollars.

Probably, but i am trying to avoid that fee.

cingular phones come factory unlocked.

cingular would probably give it to you if you told them you are traveling

you eneter it u follow the instructions and it is unlocked

You can get unlock codes on ebay for cheap too.

yea i unlocked a couple phones with codes off ebay cheap for most phones like 2-3 bux

you need a data cable to unlock it...but its just a usb a to usb b connection...same cable that a psp uses

that or call you local independent cell phone shop...usually run by asians...they most likely will have a box to do it..........

over at my local forums, they charge about 10-15 dollars to unlock fido. i have no idea why i said that, but if you want some unofficial dude to unlock it well yeah, don't get over charged? D

might want to wait til you get overseas to get it done....that way you can pick up a prepaid sim as well....i would also try to call CS at cingular and tell them that you are going for 6 months to study abroad....i know tmobile will give you the code and instructions...not sure about cingular

well... my last motorola from cingular was factory unlocked. i called customer service before i listed it on ebay and thats what she said.

revscene.net, like i said its local, they usually meet up and whatnot because we all live very close to teach other.

You need a special unlock box for the razr, you can not do it with codes, or by using usb.

I was going to say something to that effect.. I have heard Motorola phones are quite difficult to unlock.
