hey i'm looking for a new computer game to play, preferably not online. MMORPGs...i get too into it and can't stop playing, so single player games. i'm more into games like action adventure kind of 3rd person thing..i'm not really into dark games like F.E.A.R, not to mention i can't even play that game with my computer
i have a 2600+, 512 mb ram, 9550 radeon, and suggestions? good games guys?

Civilization is a classic game. Its a turn based strategy game. You basically try to build your own world. You start with a settler, build a city, build more settlers and an army and workers and try to colonize the world. Its really fun and addicting but not hard to learn or play, hard to master )

CivIV is VERY time consuming. You can save the game in progress, but don't expect to finish a game in one sitting unless you play online. My friend and I played against computers and it took us like 5 hours for a game (we are new at the game though). Fun, but time consuming.

how does that compare w/ AOEII? i have the gold edition w/ conquers expansion pack. i know they have AOEIII, but the second is cheaper lol It sounds similar in gameplay and concept, just wanted to know if either one had any advantages over the other....?

I believe alpha centauri used the same engine, also a very good game. Although I kind of like the level of automation available in Civ IV.
Empire Earth II is a great one, much better than Age of Empires 3.
If you like fantasy type games try Heroes of Might and Magic IV... or if you can wait V should be out next month.
Or if you want something completely addictive and very low resources check out the Avernum games at www.spiderwebsoftware.com they have huge demos that let you see how they play... it's very old final fantasy but with a larger world.
