Starting to get random spam in my personal Gmail :-(

Like most people I have several gmails. I have my spambox which I use for my freesites, random signups, etc. And then I have my personal email which I only give out to close friends and family. I've never given it out to anything else. But it seems that some idiot(s) is just going through the alphabet and sending out spam, hoping it will hit some real addresses. Unfortunately for the past few days I have started to receive 1-2 spams a day. They're the random weird text emails too, no unsubscribe link. Anyone have any suggestions? There are no patterns to any of them so I can't really create a straight to trash filter...

I get like 100+ spam emails a day in my gmail but its what I use to sign up for everything...

Speaking of "unsubscribe" links. I've been clicking them, but do they actually remove you from their list?

I hear don't click them because it just lets them know you actually use that email...

They are supposed to...but half of them probably just confirm to the sender that indeed the email address is active, AND that the email was looked at...lol.

Yes, most do for me. Although now many spam e-mails don't have a unsubscribe link or if they do, it doesn't work.

I have been as well. Mostly stuff like "Great Business Opportunity!!"

I only use my main Gmail account to sign up for the free sites with and other really important things, and I have another e-mail that I use to do offers with.

I actually get more Spam on my main Gmal account than I do on the one that I use to do offers with. shrug

i get spam in my gmail account now. its not too bad because the filter blocks a lot of it. but every now and then one will get through.

So, no one has any suggestions? Some google fanatic out there has to come up with a program or extension....

I use my GMail account for most stuff and really don't get that much spam.

I've got a couple of different spam GMail accounts too, but the unsubscribe links do work, at least for me.

I have about ~3000 spam in my gmail account, I want to try to get to 10,000.

I use my gmail account for everything, and usually have about 4500 spam emails filtered to the spam folder (that is with it deleting emails over 30 days old.) And i get about 2-3 that come thru to my inbox a day usually. Still, much better than yahoo or hotmail.

same whats your total mines aroung 12,736 or so
