Alrighty, so I'm getting a car soon and my parents thought it might make sense to give me a credit card in case of emergency (car breaking down, ect.). So, that being said, I'm going to do a credit card offer. Besides the two week wait, who cares! My credit card being paid by parents, blah only for emergencies. So, does anyone know anything about credit or going to college for financing and or some type of credit. I'm just basically confused on which card I should pick out of all of them. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I would suggest Citi. They're pretty good with accepting college students, they have good protection, awesome online account management, and kick ass customer support (just press 0 ;)). I also like Discover and AMEX, but I think they're slightly harder to get if you have no credit.

My dad has one and he gets a $100+ in giftcards to restaurants. I like it.

Yup, I also got my credit card doing an offer for Freepay Citi Platinum for College Students. As kevxcross said, their service is really good. They seem to take good care of their customers. I even got a 0% intro. APR doing the offer.

I got an American Express. Mainly because a financial advisor told me that it was one of the best cards you can get.

Something that has a low interest rate, and a low APR ... which of course most are usually 0% for the first year or something, but they'll say how much the APR is after the 0% is over.

Also, cash back is cool to have.
