so my parents and i are moving to a new place and we are switching to comcast (internet, cable, hdtv). is the service any good? do you actually get the full 6mbps? any problems with the digital cable? is the support staff a bunch of outsourced assholes that cant speak english?

i don't know about the 6 mbps...maybe that's new. i get 3.0 mbps...and that works great. it's harldy ever down, so i don't know what they're talking about. the only thing i have problems with is when i run limewire for too long my internet shuts down, but that's not a problem w/ the internet at all

i've never had any problem w/ the internet company, but sometime certain web sites set off my internet connection at wierd times. like i go to the site, and it shuts down. i get it running again, go to that same site again, and it shuts down again.
but like i said that's nothing w/ comcast. it's a fairly descent sevice, you'll be happy with it

Comcast doesnt like me, but them we are in south floridaand are often plagued by power outages and downed lines and all during the summer because of storms so if youre moving somewhere with plenty of hurricanes expect some problems if the power goes out, butt thats a given with all services really.
The connection speed is awesome in my opinion. and the cable is great. I think my folks pay an extra $5/month on the hd reciever, but I think thats teemed with all the credit they owe us because well thos hurricane days and some bastards that kept cutting my cable line for a month..
They arent outsourced at all, as a matter of fact, they are local for most. I can call 1800COMCAST or 305COMCAST or 954COMCAST and get someone different with a proper accent (usually spanish down here cuz well is miami!) anyways, you get my point... oh, and a plus is that you get a few gigs to download from newsgroups with the internet service...

I have it at home in CT. When they first came to the area they were shakey but I've never had a problem with them since. After the first 6 months their connection has never gone down. Reminder that they were new to the area and to setup from scratch so server problems were inevitable.
