I got a black faced movado I can sell ya.got it for a gift but I don't need it for 2 reasons, I suck at telling time unless its digital, and I hate the person who bought it for me(Father).
Its classy and kool, but I don't do watches and the above reasons.

I'd go for a Fossil. They have stepped up their game and introduced some great designs and they wont put a dent in your pocketbook.

fossil has some great stuff. only problem is that some of it is a bit too flashy. seiko has great watches too. best bet is to go to a nearby macy's and check out their selection cause sometimes they have some pretty sweet deals on great looking watches.

Go to a fast forward or some other trendy type store, you can find lots of watches you'll like given your description.
or go with a fossil.
you probably can't afford a movado.

I have a Movado and a Tissot, both very expensive.
Fossil is a nice and I like G-Shock too. Nixon watches are pretty tight IMO...

But in the business world and in many industries it isn't polite to be looking at your cellphone all the time. Think if you were waiting a table and needed to know the time, what would be classier, pulling your cellphone out and looking at it or looking at your watch... hell, pulling your cellphone out might lose you your tip or get you in trouble with the boss.
