I have an HP that's about 2 years old and I think the battery has had it. It lasts about 15 minutes. I have a hard time realizing I have to buy another one for 50 or 60 bucks. How long does a battery usually last in a laptop? Also, would it make a difference if I kept it out when it was plugged in?

I get 3-4 hours on my HP ZV6000 (12 ions)

My dell gets around an hour not plugged in, my ibbok lasted hours and hours not plugged, I think around 6+ if not more on standby also..

Well, my hp zv5000 laptop only lasts about 2 hours. Yeah, sucky battery life.

Hey everyone with Powerbooks, how long does your battery tend to last you? I got my Powerbook a few months ago and the battery only seems to last 2.5 MAYBE 3 hours. When I look on their site it says that the battery lasts up to 5.5 hours. I wonder if that's because it would have to be sleeping for it to last that long.

The battery life is related to what you're doing with the computer. If you're watching a DVD or encoding something, the battery life will be shorter than if you were just browsing the internet.

i did a test with my brand new compaq v2000 with the 12 cell battery. it lasted 5 hours watching lord of the rings on full brightness. so, i think the battery life with level out at 3.5 to 4 hours while watching movies.

I have a dell inspiron 6000. Lasts about 5 hours for when i goto my classes (do class work, surf the net, etc)
2 1/2 - 3 hours on my Gateway.

My Vaio usually runs for about 5 hours before i have to charge it
