Alright well I am looking for a place that I can basically use a coinstar or something similar to that but they don't charge as steep a fee. (Coin star and similar ones are about 9%). I am doing it for my candy business and I have around $160 in coins so that 9% would hurt more then usually. I believe that at some banks you can and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any banks or other places I could go.
Thanks )

rol them urself the bank gives u coin rollers for free u just have to count them out. or go into like brookstone and "test" to see how good the coin sorters there are and once u wrap enough coins tell them didnt work fast enough u want a better one. and leave with ur wrapped coins.

or u can jsut take out the quaters which are fairyl easy to find and cash those in. the pennis arent worth coutning 100 for a 1$ a quatre is just 4 for 1 dollar

Most Commerce banks have coin counters; and they are free to use. Even for non customers.

I was just wondering this today. I'm about $150 away from a new motorcycle and I've got probably $200+ in coins. I'll probably end up counting the quarters and dimes myself and take the nickels and pennies to a coinstar...after all, the coinstar in my local grocery store donates 100% of the 9.something% to charity.

Just buy a simple coin rolling machine for like 5$, and at your bank you get your own coin rolls for free. After that it just takes a couple of minutes.

Some of the Conisttar machines now dispense Amazon and Starbucks giftcards - both of which sell very well. Before I moved, my bank of 20 years used to count change for free; Bank of America makes you roll your own.

Yeah go to a bank as they essentially have to exchange it for you (go to your own bank obv.) They may be annoyed at you because it's kinda a pain in the ass, but coins are money too, so they have to do it.

But then do they accept the change for cash or no? And thanks to all.

i emptied out my childhood piggy bank a few months ago and used the coinstar machine for a good majority of the pennies. it took FOREVER to pour about $50 worth of pennies in there! the way it works you can barely get a handful in at at time.

At my Chevy Chase there is a free coin exchange machine which doesn't require a account. Mine has been under 'maintenance' for a couple months though, so I've been using CoinStar.

I know at my bank you can just give them a sack of coins, which they will count and then deposit in your account...its free too

I work at a bank in Canada, and even though I hate it when people bring in unrolled coins, we take care of it anyways. And for free! It's not that big of a deal, really, just grab the rollers and get stuffing. We have no problem simply exchanging the rolled coin for larger bills or whatever. The customer is always right! ;)

No, you dont have to be a customer. The machine spits out a receipt, and you go to a teller for bills. No charge. You get back what you had in paper.

I love how eveyone says buy a simple coin rolling machine...I have TWO WHOLE WATER JUGS(5 Gallons) FULL of just pennies(http//www.aifa.com.bn/aifa/waterdispensers/water_dispenser_(accessories).jpg). I have absolutely no estimate on how much it is besides the fact that one jug is 180+ pounds. I really need to check out commerce!
