Ebay and Paypal...Not getting ripped off

Well I just sold my laptop on ebay and i've contacted the buyer. He has a 132 98% positive feedback rating. When I contacted him to pay, he asked for overnight shipping and said he'd be willing to pay the extra. Is there something I should be concerned about or should I deny his request?
I heard theres a way for people to pull back their paypal payment...is this true?

They can dispute a charge much like they can with a CC, but if you're a verified PayPal Premium member and he's shipping to a confirmed address, you should be covered by PayPal's Seller's Assurance. Screwing you over would also lead to his eBay feedback and PayPal account being trashed, and after 132 good transactions he is unlikely to do that.
Asking for overnight shipping is not uncommon at all, if he's willing to pay for it, I'd be happy to do it.

Yea just make sure request signature confirmation, however you send it. And make sure that you dont check "leave package at door". If he doesnt sign for it they can just leave a note on the door.
Anything for over $250 paypal requires a signature to insure the seller.
Hope that helps.

So I thought too. I just got screwed out of $300. I sold some amazon gift cards on ebay.
[quotea06f2f3232="paypal"]Dear ,
It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete. This temporary hold will show as a deduction in your available balance. In the meantime, you are free to continue transacting using your PayPal account.

So while they are being 'investigated' I'm out the money. I tried to use the Amazon cards, but they had already been used. Looks like they high jacked an account and bought the most liquid thing they could online gift certificates.
However if it's going to a confirmed address, I can so no reason why you shouldn't honor his request.

Had this happen with an Xbox 360, I got it turned and shipped back to me, but lost $300 because it wasn't worth near as much 3 weeks after it came out... Signature doesn't matter, they can revert the payment for any reason... kinda crap, just make sure it is a confirmed address I think is what you need...

weve gotten screwed a few times from paypal. If a buyer buys something, especially out of the country, and they do not get it within a few weeks, they may file a claim with paypal about the transaction.
This one time we shipped something to japan and they filed one of these claims after about 2 weeks (well they choose the economy shipping so it takes 4+ weeks). Paypal never contacted us, and we didnt know about the whole thing untill paypal already refunded the entire payment (including shipping). Not only were we out the shipping costs, ebay costs, paypal costs, but we also had to pay the person we sold it for his $150. We contacted paypal, and there was nothing that they could do. They would not refund our money and didn't care about our side of the story.
So the person in Japan not only received the $150 item, but also his money back in full.
What we did was require insurance for all items over $20 and sometimes signature confirmation for things over $200. Just be careful with paypal.

Just out of curiosity, what laptop were you selling and how much did you end up selling it for? I'm really only curious if it was for an iBook from IRC or another free site.

-Confirmed address

And signature on delivery from someone at address (called direct signature at fedex). With the buyer at 132 feedback, you should be fine.

If you’re really concerned take the money out of the pp account. Paypal cant take money that isn’t there. )

They can when it's tied to a funding source, like your bank account or CC.

Just know that whenever you use Paypal you are at risk for one thing or another. These stories aren't one-time incidents.
