I go to Fisher...they've started doing the same thing here. Safety & Security says that they don't "browse" Facebook, but if someone or something leads them to Facebook they will use it to "crack down" on violations in the residence halls.

News Corp. (owner of Fox News) bought MySpace for $580 million a few months ago.

Last year in my school a kid made a webpage of a bunch of pictures, mainly from all sorts of parties throughout the year. The principal saw the name of the site on his desktop and went to it, printed out every single picture that showed someone at a party and send them to their parents... really sucked for people who's parents thought they were the good kids that didn't do that stuff! I think some got suspended from some sports too... schools suck!

Oh, forgot to say its a highschool

I'm in college right now and many employers are using facebook to look at pictures of potential employees. Many company's are paying people to check out kids for them (it was on Dateline or something like that). I personally know someone who was denied medical school because they asked him about his drinking. The fact that they now allow high school kids on there makes it a haven for parents and officials to find out what in the hell is going on around school. At Ok. State there was a huge drug bust and it was all becasue of Facebook.

Yeah awhile ago i took out all the pictures of my drinking and made a clean facebook profile

i blame history

well, the way i see it... if you put ANYTHING on the internet, it can be seen by anyone and everyone, even if you dont think it will be. i have nothing to hide anyways, but i would never put anything on the internet that i wouldnt want someone seeing.
i am indifferent on employers and schools using facebook to research people. i guess when it comes down to it, the information is available on the internet. now, if your boss asked to see your computer so he could seach your personal files, i would probably call BS on that. but when something is on the internet, its free game.
