I have found ways to go the other way (dvd to itunes video) but not the way I want to go
anyone know how to do this and get watchable dvds from itunes videos

why would you want to do that? the resolutions are so small...

Yeah I agree w/ mnx. You're trying to go from one compressed format to another, which will give bad results, especially considering these videos were meant for the iPod's 320x240 resolution which is about 1/2 of a DVD's resolution. Just buy a cheap iPod -> TV cable from eBay. It'll save you a lot of time and hassle.

If your iPod is still under warranty I believe the TV cable is still covered under AppleCare (free products from Apple if yours break) as I received it two days after ordering (they use DHL next day for Ohio) - I use it to watch shows on the larger screen sometimes...
