Ok...first off his shit isn't just offensive to some people, not funny whatsoever, and most of the time plain ass stupid but its seriously just gross.

Was just watch'n on MTV and he talks how great it was we blew the shit outa japan, killed millions of middle easterns, and all this other shit...

What do you guys think of this guy? I honestly can't understand how he draw's such an audience and why mtv hasn't booted his shit yet...

I think I've watched one of his shows, about half way through and stopped. he's not even funny and he probably has someone else (9 year old) write his stuff.

People think because he's "outrageous" he's funny.

See, it's ok that he says it because he's a minority. If a white guy said the stuff he said, his show would get pulled off the air real fucking quick.

If you're criticizing him for the [if0fb01dc3b]type[/if0fb01dc3b] of comedy he does, then you're off base. Just because some are overly sensitive, doesn't mean something's not funny. Sadly, Chappelle lost sight of that.

If you hate Mencia because he's a thief, then I'm with you. He's hated by many other comics for lifting material. His most vocal critic, Fear Factor's Joe Rogan, uses every opportunity to bash the guy. Mostly, with legit gripes. Both have attacked eachother on O&A, and it was some of the best radio I ever heard.

Ive only watched his show for a few minutes when he was making fun of that Kanye West and Jamie Fox music video, and that was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Part of it may be because I hate Kanye West shrug

I think hes pretty funny most of the time but I get annoyed when he uses the word beaner so much. Sounds strange, especially since im white but its kind of irritating when somone uses their own races racial slur a lot, it seems like they shouldnt be promoting the kind of harsh attitudes and thoughts they are subjected to. But thats just me, I dont really get offended by his stuff I just find that annoying sometimes.

He builds his show off offending other people. I just don't watch nor like the parts that are ridiculusly racist and things you just really shouldn't think. Some of it is ok though, but by no means the best.

He's really run the term "beaner" into the ground. I no longer think of it as a slur, but his catchphrase. I'd bet most feel that way now.

Laughing at things you "shouldn't" doesn't make you a bad person. I have laughed at insensitive jokes, but I'm not racist or a pedophile. As for Mencia, I don't find him funny anymore, but comedians like Chappelle and Jim Norton are hilarious. (Well, Chappelle [ie0dcef5520]was[/ie0dcef5520])

The thing about Mencia is that it doesn't even come across that he actually believes in what he saying. He's only saying it because he's been told to or is being paid to, and that's enough to turn me off at least.

There's no appeal to watching a comedian who doesn't even believe in what he's saying. When he's trying to come off as himself and not some character where it's accepted or he's trying to make a point.

Tholek, I know you like alot of British TV so you may like Chris Morris if you haven't heard of him already. Very funny and intelligent, very satirical and very original. He's so serious and dead-pan that I really don't know if he is serious or not in what he does/did.

Some of his stuff is funny (ie very little of it) but for the most part he is way to racist for my taste. I'm more of a seinfeld kind of person stuff thats actually funny.

George Carlin did a show few weeks ago, couldnt stop laughing, he made fun of suicide and a whole bunch of dark stuff.

He doesn't offended me at all (I'm very hard to offend) but I just don't find him funny. I think his jokes are lame and predictable. Chappelle was a million times better than him shrug

Seriously, he's goofy and awkward as hell, and not that funny, but why would you let anything he says offend you? All he does is grab those common stereotypes about races that EVERYONE knows of (and don't you fucking lie, you know the stereotypes) and turns them into lame jokes about current events. In one of his standup routines he said something along the lines of "If you have a joke that you can't say straight to the face of who it makes fun of, you shouldn't tell that joke ANYWHERE." He's right. He has all different races sitting right in his audience, and obviously seeing the public broadcast. They laugh along with him, so get off your high horse and stop crying.

That's to the ones saying it offends them. To those who just don't think he's very funny; I'm right there with you.. his material is usually pretty weak.

I don't quite get what you're saying, but since you said yourself you don't watch his shows I guess it makes sense. Of course he "doesn't believe what he's saying" because he's using typical stereotypes in such an obvious way. I understood that first part, you don't like genuine racists. I don't think you're alone there..

I don't think you quite get Mencia and that's fine. I'll agree with you that he's not that funny, but his whole idea is what I said before. If you'd seen some of his earlier stand-up, before he ever had his own show or anything I think you'd understand. I remember a few where he actually gets serious and kinda emotional at the end. He doesn't like racism, or segregation and that's why he tells the jokes he tells. By appearing racist to every race/culture/ethnicity on the planet he's doing 2 things pointing out how dumb racism is, and bringing all the races together by saying none is better than the other; I'm going to make fun of all of them.

This still doesn't mean he's funny, because he's not really. I'm just saying he's not some blind racist who's telling jokes passed on by racist Comedy Central execs in exchange for the bling.

I find Mencia hilarious, and the show i went to was amazing (like 3hrs long), not one of his crap tv ones. I don't like South Park. I guess just two different kinds of comedy. South Park bores me.

I've seen his standup (not live) and I tried to watch his show again last night because of this thread and he just isn't funny IMO. His jokes are just not good, they are predictable and he tires so hard to be "edgy". There are a lot of "offensive" comics I really like to. I'd rather watch Mr. Show reruns than his show, now thats a good show. But to each his own, some people think Tim Allen and Jay Leno are funny shrug

I love Dane Cook. He is awesome live. David Cross and Zach Galifianakis are my 2 favorite stand up comedians right now...
