Laptops and surround sound...

I was just wondering if it is possible to hook up my laptop to my surround sound receiver. If so, what kind of cables or equipment would I need?

I didnt really have to time to look at it myself as I need to run out right now so I am hoping I can get som input on the matter before I return.

i'm wondering if anyone knows how to change the oil in a 2003 Mazda3; i need to know what weight oil and what filter i'll need

You just need an external USB sound blaster audigy card.

are you looking for surround sound with DTS or dolby or just using the reciever?

if so this is what you need. It plugs into your mic or audio out plug on laptop and has the male adapters to plug into the reciever.

He wants surround so that cable won't work unless he just wants simulated surround (like DTS neo).

Simulated might be alright. Hmm, would I be able to find those cables in Best Buy or something?
