I recently got my first car (1999 mitsubishi Gallant) and my
road test to get my provisional lincense is on august 12th
I suck at parallel parking and 3 point turning. does anyone know of any
sites with good instructional videos for those? ?

I never had to three point turn and honestly I hardly ever parallel park.

Not that this answers your question, but if you just practice a lot before your test and go in and do it once you'll be set.

take drivers ed and ask the teacher?
all the driving videos are old.
and parking is easy if you just take your time and or practice with cones

Yeah. Just practice a few times and you'll get it. I only did it once during my drivers ed course, and I got it the first time. Why do you struggle with 3 point turning?

Practice yourself.. you don't need videoso

parallel parking is easy but with practice

use this method line your car up with the one in front mirror to mirror but we kinda close to the car. turn your sterring wheel once to the right back the car up until your mirror covers the light on the back of the car then turn yourself in.

I don't mean to be like everyone else but I was wondering, do they have two cones set up at the DMV where you can practice? I swear, if you don't think about it a lot and you just practice one time, you will do fine. I made the mistake of practicing and looking at so many tutorials that I thought about it too much and I just made it a lot worse than it really was.

3 point turn....

remember your left blinker...turn to the left, back up so you'r end is near the curb, remember to look out the left back of the car (your left) intill you'r close to the curb, then cut the wheel to the left alot and pull away.

i took drivers ed so i konw alot about it

Parallel parking....

pull up to the car on the left side so the front of the car is equal. back up so you can see the rear of the car you'r going to parrel park is withing view from the right. now, the hard part, back up and as you'r backing up, remember to look down the middle of the car in the back and turn the wheel graduadly to the right. now, when the rear corner of the window is over the curb (when you'r looking backwords, should the right side) make sure you see it go barely over the curb. also, when you look forward, you should be at a 45 dagree angle with the car. now cut all the way to the left. back up while looking down the middle. now, when you'r Parallel to the car infront of you, pull up.

there... that should explain most of it

on our license test we only have to do regular parking and no parallel or 3point turns

I went about 100 feet down a side street, did a 3 point turn and went back. I thought I failed because it was so short, and I did nothing. )

So nope, its not just you.

In Tennessee, Drivers Ed isn't required. You just have to take a written test to get your permit then 6 months later take your driving test to get your license. All I did was drive around a block for about 5 minutes, didn't have to park or make any types of complicated turns. I only got one point taken off because one of the back roads we were on was real small, I thought it was a one way so I was driving in the middle....turns out it was a two lane road and I was pretty much driving inbetween the lines. He marked it off as something like "Didn't stay in the proper lane" yet I still got my license......

Great they give away a license to someone who doesn't know which lane to be in (

i never parralell park but when i practice trying it, its usually when there is TONS of space between the cars, lol. The three point turn is rather easy, they didndt test me the parralel park but they do test me on that.

ifyou know how to back around a curve in reverse then you should be okay, just practice reverse a lot -D

i hit the curb when i paralleled, minus 2 points. if i had hit a cone, i would have failed though.. as those represent cars. P still easilly passed.

a video is not going to get you to pass.

If you have a driveway, set up 2 garbage cans as if they were cars and the space between was a parking space between them.

If you try parallel parking, you will

A.) Not kill anyone/damage anything if you fuck up
B.) Be parking with a "weighted bat" so-to-speak...if you get the hang of parking between hard to see garbage cans, parking between 2 easy to see cars will be a piece of cake.

The three point turn...that's easy, "K" turn...

Use your mirrors AND AND AND AND look over your shoulder. When you make a left turn onto a 2 lane highway, remember to hang in the left lane then change lanes thereafter and LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER...pretend the mirrors aren't there.

Drive around all the time, get confidence. If you're confident, not cocky, they see that.

I was doing my road test and I was coming on a green light intersection. With 20-25 feet to go or something like that , the light turned yellow. If I stopped, it would be a hard stop. If I continued at my speed, i would have run a red light. So I sped through the light (yes on the road test) I fucked up parallel parking, but nailed the three point turn, and walked away with my license. CONFIDENCE, LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER, AND PRACTICE.

Fuck videos.

wow here if u hit the curb during the test, u automatically fail. that happened to my friend the first time heh. theres a list of like 5 things that make u auto-fail, i forget what else is on there. oh she also made a right turn on red when it said no right turn on red and auto-failed the next time heh

It depends on where you live. Where I live there aren't places to parallel park in so I didn't have to do it.

Your 20 and just now getting your license ?

And they don't make you parallel park as part of the test in most states anymore. When I took it we got to practice it but it wasn't part of the test.

yep...but in NY theres parallel parking making the test harder than other states.
My cousin took the test in FL and it was mad easy. no parallel parking and such.
I haven't took the test yet but I'm guessing I'll fail.

This is the best method to parallel park. I learned the 1st day. D

[quote7d49c16bc1="Kidd"]parallel parking is easy but with practice

Basically, just lineup next to the car in front of you. Then turn the wheel once to right and go in reverse until the mirror hits/linesup next to the back of the taillight of the car that you where just parallel with. Then turn the wheel left(i think its 1 1/2) and your good.

Just read what I posted and keep trying, i practice once in a while in a diserted parking lot. Pull up to the second space and pretend to the right is a car.

Good Luck

That's the best way I can explain aside from actually showing you how to do it.

Find 2 traffic cones and get a long stick.. Put the long stick inside the rear traffic cone's hole and space them apart.
