i need to do a system recovery?

i have a dell inspiron 5100, i dont know how to do a system recovery! can somebody please tell me if there is something i cand download or do on here to get a clean system recovery???

I have a Dell Insipiron 9300, and all I do is press (i forget which button) when the system is booting to come to a menu that says "Dell System Recovery" or something...............

I'm assuming you want to wipe your system clean and start from scratch with nothing on it?

Or did you really want to do a system restore and just put your computer back to an earlier time period?

As OMW was saying that's XP's System Restore, not a system recovery.

Dell would have either shipped you recovery media which you boot from, or would have created a restore partition on your HDD that you get to via a key during bootup.

i think its a cd if you got the stupid paper stating that its inside ur computer ask them for the cd
