Anyone know of a good shoulder case that has a compartment for a 13" macbook and space for a few books? (The compartment needs to keep it completely separated from anything that could scratch it inside.)

I think there was a topic like this before, and this is what i suggested to the other person
If this is for school, i think you should just put the laptop in a padded sleeve and just use your bookbag. After walking around campus for a while your shoulder will start to hurt. A backpack (or bookbag as they say here) is so convienient.

well i'll be using it at college, but also for general use (i.e. going to cafes to do homework)
I just need it to be a shoulder case, protect my macbook, hold a few books, and not be too pricy

would you consider my idea instead? Because your macbook and even one chemistry text book is not fun if you walk to your classes. A book bag can hold so much more too and more efficiently.
WHere i go to school, the only people i see carrying should bags are girls or people who dont have much in them.
It may seem fine at first, but after a while i think you wont like it.

That's exactly what I said in the last topic like this. I'd want a padded case without straps or many pockets, so I can slip it easily into my backpack.

You honestly do NOT need to pay extra money for a "laptop" bookbag. Just a really good padded sleeve and dont toss your bookbag on the ground etc.

Did you even look at the thread I linked? There are several suggestions in there...
