So, I was reading an article about the DPRK agreeing to return to six-party talks on the Icelandic News. When I did a Google.is search for more news about the DPRK from Icelandic news sources...
Then I came across this
Ég mundi endurbirta ţćr hér í fullri lengd ef ţćr tćkju ekki of mikiđ pláss, svo ég vísa bara á ţćr í stađinn.[/quote68e66cbdc2]

[quote68e66cbdc2]Iceland wishes to boost the relations with the DPRK and cooperate with it in the international arena, said Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, president of the Republic of Iceland, when receiving credentials from Jon In Chan, DPRK ambassador e.p. to Iceland, on June 15. The president appreciated the recent efforts to ease the tension and improve relations in and around the Korean peninsula.[/quote68e66cbdc2]
[quote68e66cbdc2]Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on Sunday sent a message of greetings to president Olafur Ragnar Grimsson on the occasion of the National Day of Iceland. Kim in the message wished good health and happiness to the President of Iceland and prosperity to its people.[/quote68e66cbdc2]
What the hell? This happened less than 5 months ago, Iceland's president wants to boost relations with the DPRK and the DPRK wants to boost relations with the Republic of Iceland?
Other strange happenings
[quote68e66cbdc2]Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on July 1 sent a congratulatory message to Olafur Ragnar Grimsson on his reelection as president of the Republic of Iceland. Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries will continue to develop on good terms, the message sincerely wished the president greater success in his responsible work for the country's stability and prosperity.[/quote68e66cbdc2]
This is the first time ever hearing of any relations with the DPRK... and now with the U.S. getting pissed off at Iceland for resuming whaling... Which side is Iceland going to take? I don't know... Maybe I'm overreacting. I doubt Iceland is going to be that hostile with the U.S., but it still makes me wonder... I'm sure the U.S. isn't happy about Iceland and the DPRK having diplomatic relations with eachother. ?
What do you guys think of this?
