I don't have an iPod, and I don't really want one (opted for the $275 from mp3players4free.com instead). However, as of now, my mp3 player is a 256MB from SanDisk that I bought for 50 bucks the day after Thanksgiving. Now I'm not a huge music guy, so I probably only have about 500 MB of music that I would actually want to put on the thing anyways.

My question is this Does anyone know of a free Music Converter I can download? I basically want to change my mp3 files from 192 quality to 128 quality to save space and get my 100 songs or whatever on there. I used to use dbpoweramp (downloaded free from download.com) but it was only a 30 day trial, so I can no longer use it. Anyone have/know of any other programs I can use?

AIM or PM me or reply to this. Thanks.

Yea, that one is the best. But that link is to download dbpoweramp, which I said I used to use. For some reason it only let me use it for 30 days, even though others I know have unlimited access to it.

Have you been able to use that dbpoweramp for longer than 30 days? Maybe it's just me.

I took a look at CDEx...Unless I'm missing an option or something, it looks like it can only convert WAV/CD files to mp3 form...I just need to convert my mp3s to a different bit rate/quality. Although I might not have looked at the program long enough to figure this out. Let me know if you can help.

If you have iTunes you can also use that to convert then down.

a) You don't want to do this. Taking an mp3 and rencoding it loses a huge amount of quality. It'll create a much worse sound that if you just took the original and encoded it again.

b) CdEx can do this. Just drag all your mp3s into the window and click on the corvert to mp3 button. It doesn't matter if it was a wave or not originally.

if you have windows XP you can use your 'Windows Video Maker'

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Movie Maker

then File > Import Into Collections
and import any file(s) you want to convert.

then do File > Save Movie File, and somewhere along the wizard you can change the quality of the file...
