I realize that the book isn't dealing with all new information, but I've never read too much on quantum physics, metaphysics, science of thought and all that. I'll admit I did order the book because of all the hubbub about it (closet Opera watcher) and I needed to buy 1 more selection from my bookclub...

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had read it or watched the DVD and what you thought of it. I'm kinda torn, myself. I read one page and I'm like, "Wow...that makes sense", then I turn the page and I'm thinking, "Huh...What a load of bullshit".

Oh, I agree that it is def a fad...it'll have its 15 minutes then fade away until the next time around, but there may be some substance to it if it's continually resurrected

A buddy of mine was telling me about this...to each his/her own. This is more my style

[quote41f6c5bc02]...As such I believe in fate, or destiny. I believe everything happens for a reason, and everything that happens, good or bad, has to happen, for it is all an intricate part of the ‘grand plan’ of life. But, I also believe in free will, you have choice in life. But that is intertwined within destiny – I believe that it is our choices that make destiny happen.

Based on the premise that everything that happens (good or bad) has to happen, there is really no such thing as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Events are just events. They only become good or bad when we place value or judgement on them, but they were never intrinsically good or bad to begin with. They were necessary however – everything happens for a reason. When one door closes, another one always opens. In loss there is opportunity. At the very least there is a learning there. "Be grateful for everything, even what may seem like bad things, because even they are blessings"

Reality. What is reality? I believe that reality is nothing more than something we create in our own minds. My reality is completely different from your reality. You and I could be sitting in the same room, but the experience of that room is completely different for each of us. Maybe we may share 10% of the same experience, but the other 90% we are living in our own heads, thinking our own thoughts, interpreting everything though the perception we have developed based on the sum of our experiences.

As such, we create our own reality. Happiness, or sadness for that matter, is not determined by what goes on around us, rather it is determined by how we perceive what goes on around us. It is something that comes totally from within. And we are in complete control of how we chose to interpret something – we are in control of our own thoughts. We are in control of our reality.

...That is what I believe. And you may believe something totally different. But one belief is not more correct than another. If you believe something, then it is true. For you. For it is your reality you are living in. And this is mine.[/quote41f6c5bc02]
