I'm not quite sure why, or how I wrote so much, but I did. If you don't feel like reading all of this, I highlighted the Uber-1337 Subaru parts.
So this morning I woke up, and it's snowing. No big deal (besides the fact that the snow was freaking hard to get off of the car because of how heavy it was). I left to school at about 710, on a normal day I would have arrived in about 15 minutes, but not today. The highway was backed up a ways and moving at about 20mph down the canyon out of the foothills (which is one of the steepest grades of interstate in the U.S.), so I ended up arriving at about 800. Once I got down into Golden it wasn't snowing, but pouring rain instead; which continued for most of the day until about 1000 when it turned to sleet-esque something. At this point our principal announced that as of 1115 all students who lived in the mountains / foothills could leave school (YES!) before the highway closed down (I guess it was snowing harder in the foothills than it had been). Unfortunately I had scheduled an appointment with my tutor at 1230, so I had to wait for that. By the time I was done with my tutor it was 200 and the highway was closed , the streets in Golden were beginning to flood, and I could only image what it was like at home. As I headed up the frontage road conditions got progressively worse, and pretty soon it was a freaking blizzard and you could barely see past the windshield, and underneath the snow which covered the road was a crusty layer of slush-ice with two tire tracks in it that offered the only traction to be had. As I neared my house the roads got even worse, with more cars in the ditch and more ice under the snow, but
I eventually reached the top of my mile-long dirt road; only to find that it hadn't been plowed, and that the plowing of the road in front of it had created a 3ft wall of crap in front of it. So I sort of powered it sideways in order to face my road and stepped on it. I made it through the pile and only got high centered for a second in the process. As I continued down the road I had to stop for a heard of snow covered elk who were crossing, and then came closer to my house where our neighbor had decided to line about 1/2 mile of the road with railroad ties and re-bar back in december (which cut about 2 feet off of the already small road) so I made pushed my way down the road through 3 feet of heavy, wet snow until encountered a tree which had become so weighed down with snow that it cracked at the base and fell across the road, I got out of the car and managed to roll the tree to an angle so I could drive through, and arrived home with no other problems. And my 97' Legacy 2.5 GT never got stuck or even slid off course for that matter 8) I freaking love this car.[/color68e88e4f99]

Nice, you got the fog lights in there? After the snow is done I'm gonna buy a new bumper (came with rock damage), pull that damn bra off, and put on some clear corners, fog lights, and a secksy grill.

Yep, came with fog lights. I need a new bumper/fender as well, mine has a lot of rock damage and someone backed into it and ran. ( Yeah, definitely get the bra off. You know how to clear your corners, right? Mine are cleared. 8)

Yeah, I followed one from there. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it and well worth it.
Thanks!

Wow, just got back online after a 22 hour power outage. Also have another funny story; yesterday when I got home and went to park my car I decided I would park somewhere other than where I was in the picture above because of all the falling trees, and when I woke up this morning there was a huge tree branch right where my car would have been shock

Gawd, maybe I need to get a Subaru Legacy! I was slip-sliding around Denver all winter in my mini-van, and you all in Colorado know just how bad this winter was (especially for non-skiiers/riders like me) ( ! Now that the snow's all gone, I'm breathing a sigh of relief that I won't see the stuff for several months.

It is when you're late picking kids up from school and your car is stuck in it!! Don't get me wrong, I love a good snowball fight, but this was a tough winter (I'm just not used to THAT much snow for THAT long). But you're right, it's not all bad...we did have a bunch of fun and the kids loved getting the extra days off school! Just REALLY looking forward to summer, though...
